Tour Itinerary

Urriðafoss is Iceland's most voluminous waterfall, where the mighty Þjórsá River — Iceland's longest — cascades across a wide basaltic ledge in a thunderous display of raw glacial power. Rather than height, this waterfall impresses through sheer volume, with massive clouds of mist often producing spectacular rainbow displays. It's the perfect introduction to your glacier hike adventure, demonstrating the connection between Iceland's ice caps and the powerful river systems they feed along the South Coast.

Kvernufoss is one of Iceland's best-kept secrets — a stunning 30-meter cascade tucked away at the end of a scenic hiking trail, with the unique opportunity to walk completely behind the falling curtain of water. Its secluded location ensures an intimate encounter far from the crowds, where the thundering cascade creates a natural amphitheater of sound and mist. This stop perfectly sets the stage for your glacier hike, showcasing how water in its liquid form carves Iceland's dramatic landscapes before you encounter it in frozen form on Sólheimajökull.

One of the most beautiful yet, lesser known waterfall in Iceland: Kvernufoss

The highlight of the day — strap on crampons and walk across thousand-year-old ice on Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of the mighty Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. Expert guides lead you safely through a frozen landscape of crevasses, ridges, and stunning ice formations while sharing insights on glaciology and climate change. All safety equipment — crampons, helmets, and harnesses — is provided, making this unforgettable adventure accessible to participants of all experience levels.

Your adventure concludes at Víkurfjara, a dramatic black sand beach where powerful Atlantic waves crash against volcanic shores beneath the iconic Reynisdrangar sea stacks — said in local folklore to be trolls turned to stone by the rising sun. Nearby, the striking hexagonal basalt columns at Gardar showcase nature's precision, formed by slowly cooling lava. It's the perfect finale to a day spanning glacial rivers, hidden waterfalls, ancient ice, and Iceland's stunning volcanic coastline.
