Witness Nature’s Most Spectacular Light Show

Experience the breathtaking magic of the Northern Lights on our intimate small group aurora hunting tour. Limited to just 19 guests, this premium experience combines expert local guidance with flexible viewing strategies to maximize your chances of witnessing Iceland’s most magnificent natural phenomenon.

Small Group, Big Advantage

With a maximum of 19 guests, our guides can quickly adapt routes and access exclusive dark-sky viewing spots far from Reykjavik’s light pollution. They monitor weather conditions, cloud cover, and aurora forecasts in real-time, adjusting locations throughout the evening to give you the best possible chance of a sighting. If the Northern Lights are not visible, flexible rebooking options let you try again on a subsequent night.

What the Evening Looks Like

After convenient pickup from Reykjavik, you will travel by comfortable heated minibus to carefully selected viewing locations featuring dramatic Icelandic landscapes — mountains, lakes, and volcanic terrain. While you watch the sky, warm up with Icelandic wool blankets, hot chocolate, and traditional pastries. A professional aurora photography service captures the display, so you go home with stunning images even if your own camera cannot handle the conditions.

Expert Aurora Knowledge

Your guide shares the fascinating science behind the Northern Lights — from solar wind and the 11-year solar cycle to how different atmospheric gases create green, purple, and red aurora colors. You will also hear about traditional Icelandic folklore surrounding the dancing lights and why Iceland’s position within the aurora oval makes it one of the world’s premier viewing destinations. The tour runs from September through March, departing in early evening to coincide with peak aurora activity.
